SUMMARY

The loses experienced by family members seems to be crucial in the course of the treatment eating disorders families. Death and family’s manners for adaptation to losing one of the family member are most severe problems. Strong relations between the pathological mourning processes and eating disorders symptoms are observed. The death problem provokes disturbances in family homeostasis. Eating disorders symptoms might be understood as a way of keeping family equilibrium. Unfortunately, the situation does not let the adolescent patient go through separation process successfully.
